Just hit an unexpected "milestone"?my open-source library, cwtwb, just experienced its first "pixel-perfect" plagiarism on PyPI. One month since launch, 124 commits, and 6,000+ downloads. They didn't just copy the code; they lifted my ASCII architecture diagram and interface names straight from the README. Frustrating? A bit. But it also proves this project is solving real pain points and making an impact. cwtwb was born from my daily grind. Using AI for BI development, I kept wondering: how can I automate the tedious work and eventually "replace" myself? In Nov 2025, experimenting with Power BI's PBIP format and chatting with Andy Cotgreave about Tableau's JSON direction convinced me: code and automation are the future of BI workflows. As use cases grew, it became clear that a single script wasn't enough. That?s why I established datacooper?an umbrella brand to house specific tools like cwtwb and cwprep. Together, they form a complete ecosystem designed to turn manual BI drag-and-drops into a fully automated pipeline. Fun fact: the new datacooper logo was made in a day by feeding my own avatar to Gemini. A very "solve it with AI" approach that fits the brand's vibe perfectly. Building in public takes courage, but the authentic feedback has been incredible. My ultimate goal remains simple: to help data workers break free from manual labor and focus on true business insights. Open source is never a solo journey.
