A couple of weeks ago, Matthew Miller shared some fantastic feedback, mentioning his use case for migrating a C# script to cwprep and the need for Excel connection support. That conversation was exactly the inspiration I needed to push the library further. I am excited to announce that cwprep v0.4.1 is now live. Instead of waiting for a PR, I decided to dive in and implement native file connections, along with several other major upgrades to make the library more robust and enterprise-ready. Key updates in this release include: Native Excel (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV file input support. Automated TFLX packaging (bundling local files directly into the flow). Multi-column join support. Full MCP Server integration for these new file capabilities. Matthew, thank you for sharing your experience and validating the project. Your insights are actively shaping the development of this tool. The "code-first" approach to data prep is getting stronger. You can check out the latest commit and release details on comment.
